Website audit and approval ratings

Know how trustworthy a website really is

We audit websites and give each one an Approval Rating out of 100, built from published parameters. Search a website to see its rating and the evidence behind it.

  • Rated on published parameters
  • Evidence shown for every score
  • Ratings cannot be bought

The methodology

What every audit looks at

Weighted categories add up to 100 points. What a website actually delivers counts most, so a polished design can never make up for a false claim.

100points

The process

How an audit works

The same five stages for every website, whoever runs it.

  1. Identity check

We confirm who is legally behind the website and who is responsible for what it promises.

  2. Evidence collection

Official registries and directories, published policies, claims and support tests.

  3. Scoring

Each parameter is scored 0 to 5 on the evidence found, then weighted by category.

  4. Quality review

Serious findings get a second reviewer, and the website owner can correct factual errors.

  5. Publication and re-audit

The report goes live with its evidence and a date for the next review.

Why you can trust a rating

Independent by design

A rating is only useful if nobody can buy it. These rules apply to every website, including the ones linked to us.

Ratings cannot be bought

Website owners can send documents and request factual corrections. They cannot buy a score, a band or the Recommended label.

Evidence behind every score

Each parameter shows what was checked and where, so you can verify our work instead of taking it on trust.

A methodology you can read

Every category, weight and scoring rule is published. Missing information is never scored as zero.

Affiliations are disclosed

Websites linked to the operator carry a visible notice and are audited with the same parameters.

Questions

Common questions

Is the rating based on user reviews?
No. The rating comes from the audit. Candidate reviews are shown separately on each profile and are never averaged into the score.
Can a website pay for a higher score?
No. Website owners can send documents and request factual corrections, but they cannot buy a score, a band or the Recommended label.
What does Recommended mean?
A score of at least 90 out of 100, every parameter assessed, verified identity and evidence, no open critical issue and a current audit.
How often are websites re-audited?
Each profile shows its next review date. Automated checks run in between, but scores only change when the evidence changes.
Are websites linked to the operator treated differently?
They go through the same parameters and weights, and their profiles carry a visible affiliation notice.
